pool tile and pool mosaic art for project

Starting a swimming pool project is an exciting decision and one of the best choices you can make for your family! Incorporating swimming pool mosaic art and selecting the perfect pool tile can elevate your pool's aesthetic appeal and functionality. You may already have a vision of your dream backyard oasis. Perhaps you’ve chosen your pool decking material, but have you considered how the material feels underfoot on a hot day?

The enjoyment you and your family will get from your new pool depends significantly on the thought and planning you put into the pool surrounds, also known as your design. The small details can make a big difference in how much everyone enjoys the pool.

#1 Location and Sunlight

Have you considered where the afternoon sunlight hits your backyard? The afternoon is often the time you’ll enjoy your pool the most, but it’s also when the sunlight is strongest. Dazzling sunlight in your eyes while swimming or lounging can be uncomfortable, and you risk getting sunburned. Positioning your pool and seating areas thoughtfully can enhance your comfort.

#2 Poolside Activities

Planning the entertainment spaces in and around your pool is crucial to creating a fun and functional backyard. Ensure there is enough space around the pool entrance and steps for easy access. Without sufficient space, basic activities like getting in and out of the pool can become challenging. Consider adding sun lounges or a sunbed next to your pool for relaxation. You might also want a table and umbrella for shaded seating areas, creating a perfect spot for relaxation and socializing.

#3 Creating Unique Pool Mosaic Art

The appearance of your pool is an excellent way to showcase your personality and style. Whether you prefer an interesting, aesthetic, or sophisticated look, pool mosaic tiles offer a plethora of options to bring your vision to life. These tiles can transform an ordinary pool into a stunning centerpiece, adding depth, color, and unique character to your backyard oasis.

Pool owners often opt for unique designs to make their pool stand out. With pool mosaic tiles, the design possibilities are virtually limitless. You can create intricate patterns, vibrant scenes, or elegant, minimalist designs that reflect your personal taste. From geometric patterns to nature-inspired scenes, these tiles can be arranged to form captivating visuals that make your pool a true work of art.

Bluwhale Tile specializes in creating customized pool murals for those seeking a distinctive design. Our team is dedicated to turning your ideas into reality, no matter how complex or detailed they may be. For instance, one of our clients approached us with a unique vision for his pool. He sent us an original drawing along with the dimensions of his pool via email. Inspired by his love for marine life, he wanted a custom pool mosaic mural named OCEAN FISH.

Our talented designer collaborated closely with the client to modify and refine the initial drawing, ensuring that the design was both feasible and visually stunning when translated into mosaic tiles. This collaborative design process took approximately two weeks, during which every detail was meticulously planned and adjusted to meet the client's expectations.

Once the design was finalized, our skilled factory workers began the intricate process of creating the mosaic mural. The mural was pre-assembled in our factory using numbered sheets to ensure precise and efficient installation. This phase took about 20 days to complete, reflecting our commitment to quality and craftsmanship. Each tile was carefully placed to match the design, creating a cohesive and vibrant mural that truly brought the client’s vision to life.

#4 Decorating Around the Pool on a Budget

When planning the hardscapes around your pool, consider cost-effective options. While fully tiling the pool area is ideal, pairing a smaller amount of tiling with synthetic grass can be a perfect compromise to reduce landscaping costs. If you have a limited budget, remember that most pool owners use only two sides of the pool frequently. Focus your investment on these two sides with hard finishes and use minimal tiling on the other sides.

#5 Considering a Pool Fence

Swimming pool safety barriers come in many styles, so consider all your options to find one that suits your taste. Popular choices include metal-compliant screens, frameless glass fences, or a combination of both. A transparent glass fence can act as a sound barrier and enhance safety without obstructing the view.

#6 Pool Equipment Placement

Yes, you need to consider pool equipment! Pool equipment typically requires a space of at least 1.5 meters by 1 meter. This area increases with additional features like heating or in-place cleaning systems. Place the equipment within 8 meters of the pool edge for optimal filtration.

Ensure the equipment is easily accessible and avoid placing it near entertainment areas or outside leisure room windows to minimize noise disturbance.

#7 Choosing the Right Color Scheme

Trendy swimming pool magazines often feature neutral outdoor color schemes like whites and greys. When selecting your pool’s hue, interior tiles, decking materials, and furniture, make sure the colors and textures complement each other. Porcelain, travertine, and limestone tiles are popular choices for their cool feel underfoot.

#8 Economically Styling Your Pool Space

Investing in the main hard surfaces of your backyard is essential for creating a cohesive and inviting outdoor space. These surfaces serve as the foundation of your backyard design, providing structure and functionality. When selecting materials and colors, opt for those that are not only durable but also visually appealing, as they will set the tone for the entire area. A harmonious color scheme can create a unified look that ties together different elements of your landscape.

In addition to the hard surfaces, incorporating greenery or beautiful plants is an economical and practical way to enhance the aesthetic appeal of your backyard. Plants add color, texture, and life to your space, creating a more inviting and relaxing environment. Whether you choose flowering plants, shrubs, or even small trees, greenery can soften the look of hard surfaces and provide a natural contrast. Strategically placed plants can also create shaded areas, offer privacy, and contribute to a sense of tranquility in your outdoor oasis.
